so here's a new one....the Iraq war is due to Americas tolerance of homosexuals....hmmm, now wait a second....since when do Americans tolerate homosexuals????

House Bill Restricts Protests At Military Funerals

POSTED: 8:20 am EDT May 10, 2006
The House has voted to restrict demonstrations at military funerals. The measure, known as the "Respect for America's Fallen Heroes Act," passed 408-3. The bill is aimed at a Kansas church group that has carried its anti-gay message to the last rites for those killed in Iraq. As Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Steve Buyer put it, "We will not allow the repugnant acts of a few to define who we are as Americans."Protesters, led by the Rev. Fred Phelps of Topeka, claim that U.S. military deaths in Iraq are a sign of divine punishment for America's tolerance of homosexuals. Those who violate the act, which still needs Senate approval, would face up to a $100,000 fine and up to a year in prison.

Now you would think the most shocking part of the following story is the fact that there is a 71 year age difference between the bride and groom....however, you would be mistaken

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A 33-year-old man in northern Malaysia has married a 104-year-old woman, saying mutual respect and friendship had turned to love, a news report said Tuesday.

Muhamad, an ex-army serviceman said he found peace and a sense of belonging after meeting Wook Kundor, whom he said he initially sympathized with because she was childless, old and alone, the report said.

"I am not after her money, as she is poor," Muhamad reportedly said. "Before meeting Wook, I never stayed in one place for long."

He said he hoped to help his new bride to master Roman script while she taught him Islamic religious knowledge.

The report did not say if any of Wook's previous 20 husbands are still alive.

Malaysian Muslim men are allowed by their religion to take up to four wives at a time, but reports of women who marry more than once are rare. Muslim women do not practice polygamy.

Malaysia's 26 million population comprises about 60 percent Muslims, almost all ethnic Malays. Large ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities are Buddhists, Hindus or Christians.

Apparently we have found the fountain of youth.....21 husbands....or an average of one husband every 4.95 years.....if only i was getting as much action as this 104 year old

Dear Latin America,

Please get your act together....i am sick of researching your countries and having nothing good to say. Tomorrow i must do a presentation on San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, convincing people they should study abroad there. This is what i have learned so far:

1) An Earthquake in 1854 distroyed virtually the entire city....a volcano erruption in 1917 finished off the rest of it....therefore, San Salvador has no historical sites to visit. Sorry.

2) You had a 12 year civil war that killed 75000 people and accomplished nothing...surprise surprise

3) If you say the world abortion, you get a "go to jail card" for 2-7 years.

4) There is a great divide between rich and poor. Rich people gate themselves in oppulent communities in the hills. The slums take over pretty much the rest of the city, and have lots of violence and gang activity. The US embassy is in one of the rich gates places. Don't leave the rich gated places. If you must leave, do so during daylight hours, and take a taxi approved by the Hotel, or you might get kidnapped.

5) They have pupusas!!!....but they are basically quesidas with a different bread, and you can get them in southern california.....thus, the risk of kidnapping / death outweighs the enjoyment of eating a pupusa in El Salvador.

Sincerely,
Teddy

Dear UNC-Chapel Hill,

Please stop closing all my pathes to class. I should not have to journey over obsticales and through mazes to attend class. Your offences are listed below:

1) Closing road between hojo and b-school:
-the bus no long runs down this direction, forcing me to walk. Not only this, i now must trample through a forest or use the parking deck to get to class. thanks. i don't appreciate it.

2) New closure of bridge between b-school deck and b-school
-This negates option two (parking deck) of my journey to class due to road closure. Now i must trample through steep hill / forest.

3) Closure of area between bowen pool and fetzer gym:
-Thank you for closing the most amazing short-cut ever to get to class. Now i must spend 5-10 extra mintues walking around fetzer, or find my way through the maze known as fetzer gym

So not only was my journey to the b-school an already heafty 25 minute walk, i now must navigate through a gym, a forest, and a hill. thanks. for nothing

Sincerly,
Teddy Kirby
